Meet Sarah; Our New Greenheart Travel Intern and Expert on France

Sarah-in-Orleans

Hey!

My name is Sarah FitzMaurice and I am currently working as the marketing intern at Greenheart Travel. I am excited to have this opportunity to learn more about the inner workings of a study and work abroad organization.

I have had a passion for travel and learning about different cultures since I was a five years old pretending I knew how to speak and read French, reenacting scenes from Beauty and the Beast in my living room. I can safely say since then, I have successfully learned how to speak and read French, and I was lucky enough to live in France two separate times.

I studied abroad during my junior year at Loyola University Chicago in Nantes, France for a semester, which was a beautiful and enlightening time. After I graduated, I returned to France to teach English to elementary students in Orleans, France for seven months.

During my seven months living in France, I had great opportunities to travel to several countries and learn an incredible amount about the cultures and languages of the world.

Through these two experiences of living in France, both for different reasons, I realized just how much I loved traveling and being immersed in foreign languages and cultures. My career path right now is to become a study abroad advisor, as I hope this position will allow me to assist as many students as possible to spend time abroad learning about other cultures, languages, but also themselves.

I am currently in the International Higher Education Master’s program at Loyola University Chicago to reach my goal of becoming an advisor, along with my experience at Greenheart Travel, I hope to get as much experience and knowledge as possible to further my path in international higher education.

A bientot!
