My Packing List for My Language Program in Spain

My Packing List for My Language Program in Spain

I have officially completed my first week in Spain at my teen summer language camp in Salamanca! It went by very fast but I am excited to spend two more weeks in this beautiful city. While I feel I did a great job packing (with the help of my mom), there are still things I wish I would’ve brought.

My initial packing list for Spain:

  • 3 pairs of shorts – one nicer and one for sports or running, one of your choice
  • 2 pairs of nicer pants (jeans etc)
  • 1 pair of yoga or stretchy pants
  • 1 Capri pants
  • 1 long sleeve shirt
  • 2 short sleeve shirts
  • 2 tank tops
  • 1 heavier jacket
  • 2 light jackets
  • 1 nicer sweater or cardigan
  • 2 dresses
  • 1 set of pajamas
  • 5 pairs of underwear
  • 3 pairs of socks
  • 3 bras – different styles and colors
  • 1 smaller bag
  • 1 small backpack
  • 3 pairs of shoes – running shoes or walking shoes, sandals or good flip flops and one shoe of your choice
  • 1 water bottle
  • one towel
  • pens and pencils two of each
  • 1 notebook
  • reading book
  • electronics and chargers (I brought my phone, camera and an iPad)
  • eye mask and ear plugs
  • outlet converters
  • pillow
  • host gift
  • an extra bag ( so I can fit everything on the way home)
  • hair ties and makeup if you use
  • sunscreen
  • bathing suit
  • any other medications

What I Wish I’d Packed:

I now realize that two sets of pajamas would’ve been a good idea. I also wish I had brought a small umbrella because so far it has rained on and off for three days.

Also I recommend bringing undergarments that are fairly easy to wash and dry, like underwear and socks, because laundry is only done once a week for the whole house and the washing machines are much smaller.

If there is extra room in the suitcase you are taking bring a small to medium sized shampoo and conditioner but this is also easy to find in Salamanca.

I am very happy with what I packed and don’t think I missed anything big other than an umbrella and extra pajamas, but make sure to bring an extra bag or a bag with extra space on the way back to fit gifts for family and friends and yourself!

This weekend I went on an excursion with the school to an olive oil factory nearby and a town called La Alberca-Peña De Francia which had amazing architecture and cute outdoor marketplaces.

¡Hasta luego!
