Teach English in Myanmar

Teach English in Myanmar and gain international teaching experience while living in a destination known for its rich culture, welcoming communities, and immersive travel opportunities. This opportunity is a great fit for adventurous, flexible candidates who want to work with students, experience daily life abroad, and build international work experience in a developing-country setting. Teaching positions are paid and typically offered on 6-month or 1-year contracts.

Teachers usually begin with a one-week orientation in Yangon to prepare for the classroom and daily life in-country. An optional in-person 120-hour TESOL course may also be available after orientation for candidates who need certification before beginning placement. Placements are then arranged in Myanmar, with support provided for visa preparation and settling in. Start dates are offered several times throughout the year, and additional timing may sometimes be possible depending on availability.

Candidates should generally be native English speakers, ages 20–59, citizens of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa, in good mental and physical health, and without a criminal record other than minor violations. A high school diploma is the minimum academic requirement, and a TEFL/TESOL certification is required unless the applicant majored in Education. Applicants should also be open-minded and adaptable.
